Goodwill Industries, Inc. provides family strengthening, education, workforce development, and employment services for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment in Minnesota. It offers employment services, such as the evaluation process, including career, on-the-job, and vocational assessments; placement services, including job development, r sum preparation, and interview training; transitional and paid employment opportunities; and industry-specific skills training for automotive, bank, bank reconciliation, construction, warehouse forklift, and retail careers. The company also provides adult rehabilitative mental health services for individuals with mental disabilities; supplementary security income advocacy services; and family strengthening and wrap-around services, which include support groups, assistance with financial needs, childcare and transportation issues, computer labs, and English as a second language classes. In addition, it offers vocational assessment, family investment program, and retention programs, as well as a project that assists men to support their children emotionally, physically, and financially; and services to support independence, including farm services, medical equipment loan programs, mental health services, and supplemental security income advocacy services. Further, the company provides employment and other services to enhance life-skills, career skills, and independence for non-custodial fathers, at-risk teens, persons with a temporary need for medical rehabilitative equipment, and people who are unable to work due to a barrier or disability, as well as unemployed, and under-employed and working poor individuals. Its services enable clients to prepare for work, maintain employment, train for employment, advance in careers, obtain jobs, and connect to other community resources. Goodwill Industries, Inc. was founded in 1919 and is based in St. Paul, Minnesota.
