Caisse des d p ts et consignations, a state-owned group, invests in development projects that serve general interest and economic development of France. It centralizes and manages savings accounts, savings account dedicated to sustainable development, and savings account for non-taxable people; grants loans primarily to social housing and urban renewal sectors; and invests in financial markets, as well as in projects to support the development policies launched by local authorities and public sector actors. The company also invests in small, medium, and intermediate-sized enterprises to consolidate their equity capital, promote innovation, and support the investment capital market, as well as grants loans to small, medium, and intermediate-sized enterprises; supports business start-ups and social economy; supports local authorities and inter municipal institutions in their projects and accomplishments in the areas of housing, transport, engineering, renewable energy, and digital technologies; manages retirement pension schemes; and is engaged in insuring individuals. In addition, it develops and manages various properties, including housing, offices, tertiary parks, shopping centers, health facilities, public and para-public buildings, etc.; and offers a range of rental services for social or interim housing, open or assisted rental, hostels for young workers, residences for students or the elderly, police or fire service barracks, assisted home buying schemes for low income buyers, etc., as well as promotes property and buying schemes for low income buyers. Further, the company provides banking services to legal professions, and social security and public interest bodies; invests in eco-service companies, carbon assets, and climate and energy transition initiatives; and conducts research in climate change economics.
